Well, you can buy it

Well, I finally got the cover finished for my novel, and it’s not perfect. I don’t quite like a few of the elements. But it’s Good Enough and I’m done with fiddling with it. It will never be perfect. But it can be good enough.

Check out the cover below: https://marjorieclavellkeane.wordpress.com/2013/11/06/cover-reveal-green-junco/

And so to celebrate I put the novel up on Smashwords and Amazon.

It’s already available at Smashwords: You can buy it here: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/375384

The Amazon version will be available some day. Who knows when.

It’s all very exciting.

I always thought that when I finally got published, there would be a roar of applause coming from the room because I’d be having a party to celebrate and about three hundred people would be attending because suddenly my publication would make me enormously popular and loved. There would be confetti, and champagne. And a cheese platter.

None of that happened. I just quietly put the book up on Smashwords and Amazon and eventually it will end up on the Apple iBookstore and that will be that.

I’m still not thrilled with the cover.

And yet I’m happy.

Yes. I feel happiness. I always wanted this day to come and now it has.

Here’s something interesting I’ve learned lately: I’d been waiting for permission to write. From my parents, basically. They never really gave it (as you can see from a previous post). So I just kept scuttling around writing stories and sending them off for submission and waiting for someone’s approval and permission to be a writer. A Writer, to be more accurate, I suppose.

And now I gave myself permission and approval instead.

It’s a wonderful thing.

Anyway, if you’re having trouble and feeling discouraged about something important in your life, that just doesn’t ever seem to take off, it might be that you’re unconsciously still waiting for someone to give you approval or permission. And when you finally get it, then suddenly everything will take off. But you’ll probably never get permission, and you probably shouldn’t wait for it.

Assign yourself as the approval-giver and the permission-giver. Then give it when you think you’ve earned it (hint: you probably have).

And enjoy.

Best,
Marjorie

P.S. Buy my book!!!!!!!

P.P.S. It’s now available on Amazon!!!
